The Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), weekend, said its maiden Super 8 tournament sponsored by Aspire FC Adazi is starting on February 1, 2021.
The sporting event aimed at discovering and developing grassroots talents had 27 participating teams.
A member of the board and Chairman, Super 8 tournament Committee, Prince Oliver Ndigwe, who disclosed this at the opening in Awka, the state capital explained that 13 teams out of the 27 are from Anambra Central, 8 from Anambra North and 6 from Anambra South senatorial districts.
According to him, two winning teams from each zone would represent their zones at the tournament where N500,000 would be won by the champion, while the second and third positions shall receive N400,000 and N200,000 respectively.
Contributing, the Brand Manager, Aspire FC Adazi, Miss Chidinma Ezeaso, adviced youth to actively participate on the tournament which according to her would develop world champions.
“Our club is sponsoring this project because we want all clubs in Anambra state to thrive. We want to discover, grow and nurture world champions. This is going to be sustained. It is continues," she maintained.
