The District Governor, Rotary International (D9142), Mr Ndukwe Chukwu, comprising Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, ,Uyo and Calabar, has urged members not to relent in developing and serving humanity.

 

Ndukwe, who made the call during his annual visit to rotary clubs of the district in Anambra including the Rotary club of Awka Smithtown, Rotary club of Awka Central and, Awka GRA, stressed that consolidating on developmental projects were best ways of giving back to the society.


 He later inaugurated some projects executed by Rotary club of Awka Smithtown noting that the “ rotary projects done, as I inaugurate it may the  tree planting to support the Environment, park  for leisure and mounting of rotary bill board be a symbol of rotary international that would ginger people to live in peace and work for a greater nation,” even as he urged members to always live out the principles of Rotary International everywhere they go.

 

Other highlights of the visit were induction of new members presented by Rotarian   Chidi Obiudu , President RC Awka Smith town, recognition of  the longest serving member present Mr George Onyeanu, and award of pins and appreciation of Dr Emma Ude-Akpeh  the pioneer district governor and Mrs Olachi Emegakor for their selfless service to serve humanity respectively.

 

In their various contributions, Mr Uche  Chidi and  Mr Emman Nnagbo , Assistant Governors of zone 7 and 8  respectively commended Chukwu for his time to visit the clubs, assuring that the rotary principles would always be upheld.
