Temple Mothers @ 37: Daddy Hezekiah advises women on good Christian motherhood

By OGEMDI OZOEMENAM, Onitsha.

The Temple Mothers of Living Christ Mission Incorporated have celebrated their Annual International Mothers’ Day with a call on Christian mothers to be hardworking, trustworthy and Godly change-agents in their respective families, the society and the church of God.

Held at the administrative headquarters of the church in Onitsha, Anambra State, the 2021 event which is the 37th edition of the Mothers' Day celebration of the Temple Mothers of the Living Christ Mission, was used to celebrate God for the gift of mothers and witnessed teachings on Godly motherhood.

Speaking at the occasion, the founder and leader of Living Christ Mission, His Grace, Most Reverend Prof Daddy Hezekiah, advised Christian Mothers to be God-fearing and join hands with their husbands to bring up their children in the fear of God, being good examples in conduct, speeches, dressing and lifestyle.

In a short sermon taken from Proverbs 26:27 and Proverbs 17:13, the man of God asked Christian mothers never to envy or 'dig pit' against their co-wives who appear to be more prosperous than they themselves.

He told women to always repay good with good, as anyone that do the contrary, evil will not depart from her house.

Rev Prof Hezekiah used the occasion to berate the government for not showing concern about the sufferings of the masses, lamenting over the rising cases of poverty, unemployment and insecurity rocking the country.

In an address read by Dr (Mrs) Jane Achufusi, the President-General, Temple Mothers of Living Christ Mission, Mrs Grace Ezeuzor called on Christian mothers to always be trustworthy and hardworking as virtuous women and be good managers of scarce resources available to them.

Speaking on the importance of mothers in any home, Mrs Ezeuzor explained that God made the woman to be a helper fit for her husband, urging Christian mothers to emulate god-fearing women like Sarah, Elizabeth and Mary in the Bible.

She said God-fearing mothers should be trustworthy and hard-working as against laziness, stressing need for them to have initiatives and good sense of organization.

The address read in part, "A God-fearing mother should not be wasteful but to manage little resources available to them especially in this period of economic recession.

"She is expected to join hands with her husband to bring up their children in God's fear by being examples in conduct, speech, dressing and lifestyle.

"When a mother dresses indecently, spreads rumours and gossips, she has derailed from being a helpmate. God-fearing mothers should encourage their husbands and children to be useful in church and to avoid idleness and confusion."

Highlights of the Temple Mothers' Day celebration was the conferment of National Patron and Chukwubuikeanyi of Umuada Igbo Nigeria and in Diaspora on Rev Prof Daddy Hezekiah by the Umu Ada Igbo Nigeria and Disapora.

The group also gave award of honour to the two precious daughters of the man of God, Princess Hephzibah Chukwunazaekpere and Mighty Princess Samuel Divine-Gift Onyinyeomachukwu as Chinyereugo of Umuada Igbo Nigeria and in Diaspora and Umuada Igbo Nwachukwu respectively.

Similarly, the Temple Mothers of the church further awarded Princess Onyinyeomachukwu as the Golden Deputy Shepherd Mother General of Living Christ Mission and used the occasion to hand over the Mothers Wing to her as the Chief Executive Officer and Golden Deputy Leader of the Mothers' Wing. ###
