Don't joke with people welfare as you takeover next month, Catholic Bishop to Soludo

By Okechukwu Onuegbu

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has urged the Anambra State governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo to make people welfare as top priority.

According to Ezeokafor, people voted massively for Soludo, a candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), during the election due to trust and confidence they repose on the state ruling party.

The Bishop, who made the call at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka during a victory Thanksgiving Mass organized in the honour of APGA, Anambra State Chapter, described the party's feat as act of God.

He charged the party's hierarchy to continue to work for the greater good of the people, saying that the electorate voted for them to continue and improve on their good works in the state.

'Your victorious outing in the last gubernatorial election in the state was made possible by God. I'm not a card carrying member of any political party but I watch and monitor political proceedings. Ndi Anambra voted because of what they believe the party has done over the years. We want that continued," he stated.

Earlier, the Chairman of APGA in Anambra State, Sir Norbert Obi thanked the bishop for the words of admonitions and encouragements, assuring that the party would continue to churn out quality leadership in the state.
