The Presiding Bishop and General Superintendent, Grace of God Mission International, Bishop Paul C. Nwachukwu, Wednesday, described as mischievous and false a social media report that a branch of the Church at Awada was attacked by Fulani herdsmen.

A Facebook user, Chinasa Nworu had in a post alleged that four Fulani terrorists sneaked into one of the branches of the church at Awada in an attempt to blow up the church but one of them was captured and set ablaze while the other three escaped.

But in a statement, Bishop Nwachukwu, urged the public to disregard the news as according to him, it was malicious, complete falsehood, misleading and mischievous.

"We wish to unequivocally state that our church in Awada was not attacked and nobody or group of persons attempted to detonate a bomb in the church. We urge the general public to disregard the news as it is a complete falsehood.

"We enjoin our members to feel free to worship the Almighty God we serve who will not allow us to be put to shame. They should feel free to attend all weekly activities for no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper," he stated.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga had in the past also dismissed same post as fake and misleading, and urged the public to disregard the report.
