The immediate past Senator representing Anambra South, Dr Andy Emmanuel Uba, has condemned the attack on his successor, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, describing it as horrific and uncalled for.
Ubah, currently representing Anambra South at the Red chamber, was in his convoy along Enugwu-Ukwu Njikoka LGA, when some hoodlums attacked the convoy, killing some police officers and Uba's aide.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Senator Andy Uba, who was also the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC at 2021 Anambra State gubernatorial poll, commiserated with the lawmaker.
"The news came to me as a shock and I sincerely condemn the horrific attack. These attacks are uncalled for and it's alien to Igbo culture to maim and kill humans. I wish to commiserate with my brother and friend, Distinguished Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah and the families of his aides that lost their lives yesterday in Enugwu ukwu, Njikoka Local government Area of Anambra State.
"My thoughts and prayers are with you and the familie I'ms of the victims. I urge the Government to do the needful in bringing total peaceful sanity to our dear Anambra state. May the souls of the departed rest in peace and may God heal all those injured," he added.
