FCET Umunze lecturer emerges COEASU Vice President

The immediate past Chairman, College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Dr Churchill Chukwunonso Okonkwo, has emerged as Vice President of COEASU.


Okonkwo was elected at a special delegate Congress of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union held on Wednesday 9th November at the Federal College of Education Abeokuta, Ogun State.


It was learnt that Okonkwo was returned unopposed by over 35 Colleges of Education across the country who were qualified to vote, as the Vice President, Research and Documentation of the Union and the Coordinator of the South East Zone. 


"The President of the Union, Dr Smart Olugbeko, who swore in the new Vice President into office, extolled the virtues of the new Vice President and expressed hope that he will fulfil his role to the Union meritoriously. He was told to ensure good working relationships between the Management of our Colleges in the South East and the Unions at the Chapter levels.


" Dr Churchill Okonkwo until his election had been the Chairman of COEASU FCET Umunze Chapter and a two time member of Anambra State Transition committee. At the last Transition Committee, he masterminded the development of the Anambra State Petroleum and Solid minerals road map which the government is using in the sector today," a statement signed by his office stated.
