Gunmen, Tuesday morning, killed one Dr Anthony Eze a lecturer at the Faculty Of Education, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.
It was learnt that Eze was taking his children to school when the gunmen stormed at his residence and on sighting them, he allegedly attempted to flee but was rushed at and shot four times four into his chest.
A source, who preferred anonymous, said the gunmen executed the act along the deceased (Dr Eze's street) at Freedom garden junction, behind a newspaper company.
"We were here (freedom garden junction) this morning when Dr Eze was driving out of his house and suddenly a Toyota Corolla salon car pulled towards the entrance of his house and when he tried to drive back.
"They followed him and shot on his chest, emptying about four bullets into before they drove away. We rushed him to the General Hospital Amaku and the doctor at the hospital confirmed that he is dead" the witness narrated," the source added.
But when contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, promised to disclose details whenever the command was informed about the incident.
