2023 Election: Electorates Urged To Vote Based On Candidate's Track- record

A member representing Onitsha South 1 in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Eli Esq has Charged teeming electorates in the fortcoming State House of  Assembly election  to vote for candidates who have verifiable track record.


Hon. Eli who is contesting for second tenure under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance ( APGA) said he loves the new system of electioneering campaign in this political dispensation.


Campaigning at Housing Estate Bridge-Head Fegge, Onitsha South LGA, he said that candidates should campaign based on their track record and not making empty promises and pledges.


" I like the way election campaigns in this election is going. It is now anchored  on what have you done ?. It's no longer business as usual. It's no longer I will do that, I will  do this. It's a matter of what you have done ? The one given to you what have you done with it ?. So, it is no longer empty promises" Said Hon. Eli.


He disclosed that when he began campaigning, there was  constituency program which according to him was initiated by his predecessor, Hon. Paddy Aniuno of Blessed memory.


" The program is laudable and I promised that I will continue with it. It is beneficiary to my constituency and I continued in the same directions and fine tuned it but it stopped a little due to invasion of covid-19. I later continued it until we were able to make it more better" 


Hon. Eli however explained that he has donated about 4 electric transformers to his constituency to replace the dilapidated ones as well as energized one which according to him is currently working, adding that he would donate more.


He also said he donated seats for the school pupils  who could no longer have seats to study " We continues to do more and more. We equally embarked on personal intervention fund. We offer help to  people to pay their rent, pay hospital bills. Also, we  empower youths by giving them substantial amounts of money, and shuttle buses. We also offer helps to indigents women by giving them substantial amount of money to support their businesses"


" I have been moving motions in the House of Assembly and sponsored  bills with some of my friends. There is one bill called Social protection bill which I am currently pursuing in the  State House. This bill takes care of people who are multidimensional poor"


The vibrant law maker urged Ndi Anambra to vote for APGA party in the fortcoming election especially his constituency, pledging to impact more dividends of democracy on the people in his constituency.
