Anambra 2025: Aguata stakeholders vow to vote against Ukachukwu, others

Stakeholders from Aguata Local Government Area (LGA) in Anambra South Senatorial District, on Saturday, vowed to reject any monetary inducements capable of making them to vote against the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The Council Area which is where Soludo, the APGA candidate for the November 8 gubernatorial poll hails from, rejected Hon. Nicholas Ukachukwu of All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that other candidates for the election were not qualified to receive a single vote within the LGA because Soludos achievements were unprecedented.

The stakeholders, who included the captain of industries, traditional rulers, youth, women, politicians and apolitical statesmen, spoke at the end of facility tour of key infrastructural projects executed by Governor Soludo in Awka and Ekwulobia, however, urged voters to collect money or whatever gifts to be offered by the politicians but never allow such to influence their voting decisions.

Speaking after the tour, the Chief Executive Officer, Jezco Group of Companies, Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, insisted that supporting Soludo’s reelection was sacrosanct because his administration had improved the welfare of people through security of lives and properties, including infrastructural and economic development, thereby attracting tourists and boosting the State economy.

Ezeokafor, who described Soludo as a transformational visional leader, averred that the development projects executed by the governor all over Anambra State was enough reason for him to win landslide, adding that whoever votes against him due to monetary inducements would be judged accordingly by God.

He also expressed satisfaction over the governor’s bridge and erosion control project ongoing at Umuchiani Ekwulobia, noting that upon it completions, ecological issues threatening Oko, Ekwulobia and surrounding environments would be a forgotten issue.

“It is too glaring to see. The impact is massive. We are all feeling it in various ways. If you are not driving or walking along the road, you are drinking the pipe borne water or making more money from your house rent, businesses, name them. I will keep supporting every government of this nature because it is improving the welfare of my people,” he added.

He said that although he has no political ambition, the time has come to reject mediocre political aspirants and embrace competent and development-driven leadership for improved welfare of the people and overall development of the State.

Other stakeholders, including Hon. Vitalis Okeke, thanked the governor for providing good governance to the people, and urged the citizenry to support the administration so as to impact more lives positively.

Factcheckng reports that the facility tour facilitated by the National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Hon. Chinedu Obigwe, took the crew through Awka Fun City which has turned Anambra State from departure lounge to a destination; Anambra State newly constructed three arms zone, comprising the government house, presidential lodge and others; Amawbia-Agulu to Ekwulobia dual carriageway and flyover, and erosion control site at Umuchiani, Ekwulobia.

Anambra State Commissioner for works, Mr Ifeanyi Okoma and his counterpart from Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Don Onyenji, who had shown the crew parts of Anambra State government house and Solution FunCity, stressed that the projects befit the status of Anambra as light of the nation and home for various personalities and icons, adding that the developmental projects would increase her economy more
