Critics had while condemning Mrs Obiano's distribution of gift items to the homeless and less privileged in Houston, USA, argued that it was a misplaced priority since charity was said to begins at home.

But the convener and chairman of the Anambra Youth Empowerment Initiative, Hon Nduka Alor  said the Anambra first Lady deserves commendation rather than condemnation, as she had through her NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) impacted more lives positively than ever in the state.

According to him, "In Anambra state alone, there are over 27 beneficiaries of  CAFE indigent widows free house project and many ongoing in some towns like Agulu, Alor, Aguleri, Amichi, Nibo, Nnobi, Nri amongst others. Over 100 children and families have equally benefited and still benefiting from her free cleft/ palate surgery and others"
