Court jails 'respected' Nnewi Chief over alleged malicious damage

 




A magistrate court sitting at Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area (LGA), presided over by Emekwu A. C. J , has sentence one  Festus Egbuonu, an indigene, titled Chief and cabinet member of the community to 2 years imprisonment over alleged malicious damage and other issues.


Egbunonu, who is also known as Obi Ezeliorah of Obiuno Otolo Nnewi, was jailed in a matter between him as defendant and the Commissioner of Police as plaintiff. 


A court document made available to us showed that Festus was found guilty of malicious damage and threatening violence to fellow kinsman.


The Chief Magistrate had found the use of excessive force and desire to make his kinsman fear for his life reprehensible.
