In a wave of appreciation and renewed hope, residents of Nkpor, Umuoji, Uke, and Nnobi communities in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas of Anambra State have commended Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for granting approval to Uzoegwu United Brothers to take over the management of Nkpor Parks and transportation activities in the area.
Describing the move as a long-awaited solution to their transportation woes, the residents said the governor's decision would ease the daily struggle of commuters and open up underdeveloped parts of the communities.
Speaking with journalists, some enthusiastic residents — Messrs John Okoye, Uzochukwu Obi, Onyebuchi Igwuilo, and Anthony Okeke — praised the "Solution Governor" for listening to the cries of the people. They described the development as a “bold and people-oriented move” that addresses both economic and mobility challenges in the area.
According to them, the approval given to Uzoegwu United Brothers to manage transportation in the axis is a significant step towards infrastructure growth and improved revenue generation. They expressed confidence that the initiative would bring lasting relief to thousands of commuters who ply the Nkpor–Onitsha routes daily.
The residents also used the opportunity to endorse Governor Soludo for a second term in office, urging fellow Anambrarians to rally behind him for continuity of his impactful governance. “The governor has shown leadership and compassion. He listens to the people and acts in their interest. He deserves a second term,” they declared.
Commuters traveling to major markets such as Main Market, Ochanja, and Bridgehead in Onitsha echoed similar sentiments. They showered encomiums on the governor and prayed for the realization of his transformational agenda for the state.
Meanwhile, commercial motorists in the area lauded the efforts of Chief Greg Ezeilo, the State Chairman of the Internally Generated Revenue Service, for his role in restructuring transportation management in Nkpor. They described his intervention as timely and critical to the success of the reforms.
The transport overhaul in Nkpor is seen by many as a model of grassroots development that reflects Governor Soludo’s broader vision for a modern, functional Anambra.
