Vemard Africa FC, Enyimba novelty match ends in a draw

The novelty match between Vemard Africa FC Nanka and Enyimba FC of Aba, on Friday, ended in a 1: 1 draw at NEROS stadium, Nanka, Orumba North LGA of Anambra state.

Factcheckng reports that Mr Emma Ifezue of Vemard Africa FC first scored the goal which was later retaliated by Mr Promise Anyanwu of Enyimba FC during the first serve, while the second serve ended goalless.

The match which announced official relocation of Vemard Africa from Enugu to Anambra state was graced by football lovers and stars including the founder of NEROS stadium, Pauly Emenike, ex-Super Eagles players, Mr Taribo West and Victor Ikpeba, the traditional ruler of the host community, Nanka, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, among others.

Speaking at the end of the match, the Chairman of Vemard Africa FC, Mr Chidi Okonkeo, expressed satisfaction over its outcome, noting that he was optimistic that the players would perform optimally Nationally and Internationally. 

The Chairman had in a recent interview revealed that the club had come to help talented Anambra state footballers and others to discover, nurture and realise their dreams in the world of soccer.
