Anambra: Obiano urges residents to register for COVID-19 vaccines online

 Anambra flags off COVID-19 vaccines administration, urges residents to apply online to be vaccinated

Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Thursday, urged the residents in the state to fill COVID-19 vaccine forms online in order to be vaccinated against the pandemic. 

Obiano, who made the call at State Immunisation Cold Store, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu teaching hospital, Amaku, Awka, during the official flag off ceremony of COVID-19 Vaccine Introduction in the state, averred that Anambra received 78,810 doses of the vaccines. 

He said the state has a good storage facility for the vaccines and appealed to the residents of the state to fill the vaccine forms online in order to be eligible for the vaccination.


The governor, however, warned Anambra populace to always observe COVID-19 protocols at all times as the oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is not a cure to COVID-19 disease.

Speaking to Journalists shortly after been vaccinated, the State Commissioner, Dr. Vincent Okpala, commended the governor for making it possible to ensure Anambra state be among States to get the vaccines and urged residents to go out emasses for the vaccination.

Others who also get vaccinated includes; the State House of Assembly Speaker, Honourable Uche Okafor, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Mr. Marcel Ifejiofor, the newly appointed Chief Medical Director, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu teaching hospital Amaku Awka and the Vice national president of of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
