Yuletide: Cleric urges Christians to emulate Christ

Catholic priest of Onitsha Archdiocese Rev. Fr. George Admike has profoundly emphasized on the need for the people of God to embrace Jesus Christ especially in this preparation to commemorate  the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ.


Fr. Admike who is the Director of communication Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha made the assertion during his Christmas message to the people of God at the end year thanksgiving and party which was organised by Mass Communication Department of the Archdiocese of Onitsha held at Legion House Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, Anambra State.


In his Christmas message which he tagged " Message of Joy and Hope" The cleric said, " There is many challenges, we are experiencing untold tribulations but our saviour is coming, our saviour is born and once our Messiah is there, He will take care of all these challenges.


The only thing is preparing,  knowing that our Messiah doesn't want us to fold our arms but to keep on engaging and worshipping him on Earth. Everybody should be more conscious in living a Christian life and that is what is expected this time around to do and I hope everybody would brace up to challenges"  He posited.


He hinted  that next year would be election year, explaining that welcoming the new born King into our hands and willing to cooperate  with Him, collaborate with Him and work with Him would bring about a  society we desire.


The press secretary of Archbishop of Onitsha equally stated that the essence of organizing the end year thanksgiving and party was to recognize the value of gratitude. Gratitude to God and gratitude to their  staff.


" Today is the end year thanksgiving and party. It is a day set aside to thank God for the year and all the success and victories even all the challenges, coming to the end of the year, we consider it worth wise to thank God  and also to thank the management and all our Staff for their contribution, all their sufferings and labour and bracing up for the challengings ahead and preparing for the year 2023 " Said the cleric.


He described the end year thanksgiving and party  as a tradition in the Mass Communication Department of the Archdiocese of Onitsha, saying that it was organised last year and this year's own was  unique because they invited  more people.


Dignitaries at the event includes, Editor of Trinitas Newspaper Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha,  Rev. Fr. Vincent Chukwuka, Sir.  Victor Ononye, Mr.John Anulumadu, Mr Phillip Balepo, Chief Sunny David Seminarians, Religious Children amongst other.
