Anambra: one dies, another injured as vehicle crashed at front of govt House

A middle aged man was confirmed died in a ghastly auto crash along Enugu-Onistha expressway by Anambra state government house at Awka.

An eyewitness said the accident occurred at about 3.19pm due to over speeding.

Confirming the report, the State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Andrew Kumapayi, through the Sector Public Education Officer, Mr Paschal Anigbo said the vehicle involved was a red colored Toyota Avalon with registration number AKD69AFB.

He said "Two male adults were involved in the crash, which was reportedly caused by over-speeding. One death  was recorded. The dead victim was taken to the morgue by the Red Cross Society.

“ FRSC operatives are on ground ensuring free flow of traffic and clearing of obstruction caused by the vehicle which tumbled. The Fire Service are also present to avert possible fire outbreak.

" The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi condole with the family of the dead. He admonishes motorists to always drive with common sense speed limits and within stipulated speed limits, especially within built-up areas.”
