Barely three days to the 2023 general elections, some hunters in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, have discovered a bag full of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) produced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in a forest.

According to a trending video, the hunters whose names were not provided, saw the bag containing the PVCs in a bush in Akamili, a community in Nnewi on Tuesday, and later took it to the premises of a popular radio station, Authority FM.

A staff of the radio station, who identified himself in one of the trending videos as Mr Ikenna Okonkwo, said they have gone through the PVCs and discovered that most of them belonged to the people of Nnewi North LGA.

He equally confirmed that the PVCs have all been taken to their village leadership ( Obi of Umudim) community in Nnewi.

When contacted, the Station manager of Authority FM, Mr Charles Ede, confirmed that the PVCs were brought to his office when he was off duty and his staff members available videod and asked those yet to collect their PVCs to come for their identifications and collections.

“I was off duty when the incident happened, but one of my staff members received the hunters when they came. I will send you his number,” he said.

The INEC PRO in Anambra, Dr Kingsley Agu, could not be reached to comment on this as he rejected all the calls out on him.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Echeng Echeng has ordered investigations into the video to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and possibly arrest the suspects behind the act.

"The Command has not received any such complaint from the concerned authority, following the emergence of a video claiming that a hunter found some PVCs in a forest at Nnewi.

"Given the above, the Commissioner of Police *CP Echeng Echeng* has ordered investigations into the video to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and possibly arrest the suspects behind the act. Therefore, the command is constrained to make further comments and any development in this regard shall be communicated," he noted.
