The major governorship aspirant under the platform of Labour Party (LP), Mr Valentine Ozigbo, Saturday, assured Anambra State populace that he would lead the State for only one term of four years if voted to power and handover to another competent candidate from Anambra Central.
Ozigbo, who is from the same Aguata Council Area in Anambra South Senatorial zone where the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) hails from, added that four years would be enough for any serious government to impact lives positively.
According to the 2021 Anambra State gubernatorial candidate of PDP , Anambra State under him as governor would be repositioned and transformed to an enviable height within four years because of his competence, leadership quality and proven records of excellence in private sector.
"I want to douse the fear of people that my emergence as governor will make Anambra South to govern the State beyond eight years because I come from the same zone and LGA with governor Soludo. No! I am a respecter of zoning. Our leader, Mr Peter Obi is also advocating for it.
"But zoning must be combined with competence to make sense. Four years term is enough for any reasonable government to perform. Go to Abia State and see what Governor Otti has achieved within 10 months and compare it to what Soludo believed to have achieved in 2 years.
"Soludo has underformed. Anambra people are unhappy with him. My tenure as governor will wipe the tears of people. I will honour the principles of zoning. I would have transformed Anambra State within four years and hand over to any other competent person from Anambra Central. I am a man of integrity, " he added.
On how he planned to defeat the likes of Soludo and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who would likely be candidates of APGA and All Progressives Congress (APC) respectively, Ozigbo said he has developed unbeatable strategies which he would love to make public to avoid betrayals.
