Anambra State police command, Wednesday, foiled kidnapped attempt and rescued the victim.
According to a statement from the Command's Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, police in Aguata rescued the abducted victim and recovered his vehicle, a sky blue Toyota Camry.
He said, "The Officers responded swiftly when they got the report at about 4:30 pm on 22/5/2024 of the abduction along Umuchiana village, Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA. During the hot chase by the Police team, the criminals shoved the victim out of the vehicle at Ndike village in Orumba North LGA and drove off for escape.
"The Officers sustained the trail on the abductors and the criminals abandoned the vehicle along Umunze road Orumba South LGA and ran into a nearby bush. Operations are still ongoing for the possible arrest of the hoodlums.
"Meanwhile, the victim has been debriefed and reunited with his family. To this end, the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, while hailing the gallantry performance displayed by the Operatives assured Ndi Anambra that the Police and other security agencies will do everything within the law to ensure they deny criminals opportunity to foment troubles and re-group anywhere in the State."
