Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Monday, stressed his resolve to make the State an industrial hub for the country and Africa at large.
Soludo, who disclosed this at the State Mixed-Use Industrial City Draft Masterplan stakeholders event held at Awka, the State capital, explained that the hub would include Entertainment Recreational and Leisure Zone, Non Processing Zone (Residential), Financial District and Services Sector.
Others are Solar Park, Railway Siding Facilities and Logistics Hub, Automotives and Motor Vehicles Assembly Zone, Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone, Textile and Leather Products Processing Zone, Domestic Tariff Area and MSMEs, Chemical and Pharmacy Zone, Export Emporium, among others for the development of the State.
The governor, who disclosed this through the State Commissioner for Trade and Industry, Dr. Christian Udechukwu, explained that the event was also aimed at brainstorming on how to design a strategic work plan for an effective, efficient and robust industrial hub in the State.
The event which tagged “Understanding Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City Draft Masterplan (AMIC), was organised by the State Ministry of Trade and Industry/Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) in collaboration with ARTELIA group.
Speaking further the Commissioner noted that the event that has representatives from the 179 Communities, State Ministries, Departments and Agencies brainstormed on how to map the various sectors in the state economy accordingly.
Udechukwu while appreciating the participants for gracing the event, also assure them of more Government collaboration.
On his remark, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ANSIPPA, Mr Mark Okoye, said the event was also to strengthen public/private partnership to ensure that all sectors of the economy in Anambra State is fully mapped to International best standard.
In their seperate contributions, the Founder and the Director General of Onitsha Business School, Prof. Olusegun Ogbesan, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ejiofor, Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Comrade Don Onyenji and his Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius' Chukwuemeka, stated that the meeting will help the state government assist all sectors strategically so as to fully tap each of their potentials.
