  By Mmaduabuchi Onwumelu

The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State,  Hon. Stanley Nkwoka(Ochendo Idemili), has described the One-Youth Two-Skills Initiative of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the best empowerment programme you can find anywhere in the country, emphasizing that by the Governor is done engaging and exposing these youths to different skills there would be no tout on the streets of Anambra again.

The Council Boss who stated this during the Re-orientation exercise organized by the Ministry of Youth held on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024 at Abatete Civic Centre, charged the new intakes not to toy with what he described as a rare   opportunity, reminding them that their counterparts in other states of the federation are dire need of such opportunities, urging them not to take it for granted.

Hon. Nkwoka who is the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming Local Government election in Anambra State advised the trainees and intending ones to pay serious attention to their trainers and ensure that they learn all that they were supposed to learn, asking them to be committed and responsive towards the exercise.

'We are in the Second Phase right now. This is the best project you can find anywhere in the country. I want to thank specially our Governor for what he is doing in the lives of these young people. When you teach a young man how to fend for himself you have practically done all you are suppose to do for the fellow. Governor Soludo is not just giving youths the fish, he is teaching them how to catch fish. He is taking them to the stream to learn how to catch fish. The Governor wants them to learn how to catch fish on their own. The Governor is doing fantastically well. He teaching them how to create wealth and be self reliant. We are happy with him.

'The fund that will be given at the end of the programme is not for the beneficiaries to squander.  They should use it to better themselves and be useful to their families and society at large. They should be serious with the trainings. They should acquire the skills and put it to utmost use.

'It is not just the take-off funds, the key thing there is the skills they will go home with at the end. This is the second phase by the time he is done with the third or probably the fourth phase you will not see any tout on the street again. I commend the Commissioner for his organisational skills and steadfastness. I call him the Jagaban. He is really doing something great with this programme, 'Nkwoka said.
