Anglican Cleric, Most Revd Alexander Ibezim,Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger has confirmed and admitted 196 persons into Mothers Union and Girls Guild.
Ibezim,Bishop of Awka Diocese urged the newly admitted persons into the order of the church to shun idol worship and embrace Christlike attitude for saner society.
He said on Thursday at St Peter’s Parish, Enugwu- Ukwu, Diocese of Awka, Anglican Communion, Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra that Christians have failed to live like Christ.
The bishop in his sermon titled " Book of Life" with Bible passage from Exodus 32 vs 32 urged the church to be examples of Christ living.
Ibezim said that most Christians lives double standard lives by their engagements idols worship, witchcraft,kidnapping,malice keeping amongst other.
He said that a true Christian should live as Christ promoting the society with goodness and philantropic gesture and not backbiting,stealing, enviously destroying fellow Christians.
"If you like build churches, bring all your money,but you pratices idolatry, you kill and engage in fetish activities,Heaven will elude you.
" Time is now for geinue repentance and nation building as Obidents people o the gospel of Christ, your light must shine for the world to embrace God," he said.
Ibezim urged the older faithful to live exemplary lives where the young people will tread in their positive footprints to promote God's kingdom.
The bishop urged the newly admitted persons to live by the principles of the Communion and represent the church wherever they are as fearful believers of Christ.
He commended the high numbers of boys among the newly confirmed persons and encouraged them to live a noble lives.
Mrs Chiamaka Okwudili newly addmited into the Mother Union said that the teaching given to them before the admissions was worth the stress.
Okwudili said that her life will surely be exemplary attitude of woman that fears God as she has been taught the benefits of be righteous woman.
Miss Favour Ngwu admitted into Girls Guild expressed happiness over the ceremony and assured to live as a child of God.
Newsmen reports that the annual events was hosted by Enugwu-Ukwu Archdeaconry namely Immanuel Parish, St Andrew's parish,St Monica Parish, Our Saviour's parish and All Soul's parish Enugwu-Ukwu.
