Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), on weekend, bemoaned that small business owners were displaying lackadaisical attitudes towards loans and other opportunities to grow their enterprise in Anambra State.
The State SMEDAN Coordinator, Mrs Chito Onuzuluike, who disclosed this at one day Anambra Small Business Summit held in Awka, under the theme: “Enhancing the Growth of Small Business for Job and Wealth Creation," urged small scale business owners to make themselves available for the opportunities by registering with the agency and Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME).
According to her, the agency with the supports of government, has mapped out millions of naira, among other avenues to boost small business owners successful operations in the State.
Also speaking, the Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Christian Udechukwu, said that governor Chukwuma Soludo has provided ow interest loans for micro, small, medium and large enterprises.
“For micro businesses, you can apply from zero to N10 million. It is funded by the Anambra State government and the Bank of Industry. But if you wish to access more than N10 million loan, you must ensure that you are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and also own assets," he added.
Earlier, the State Chairman of National Association of Small Medium Enterprise (NASME), Mr Chinemerem Oguegbe, disclosed that the summit which was first of it kind, was aimed at providing solutions to private sectors to develop their businesses amidst challenges of doing business in Anambra State.
