Kenya, Tinubu, others assure partnership with Soludo to boost Anambra economy

President Bola Tinubu, the Kenyan High Commissioner in Nigeria, Mr Isaac Parashina, and other stakeholders have assured their readiness to support economic sustainability and development in Anambra State.


They spoke at Anambra investment summit themed changing gears, accelerating Anambra's economic transformation held at Awka, the State capital.


Tinubu, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Emeka Obi, hinted that Soludo was heading to the right direction, assuring that the federal government was implementing necessary reforms to change the economy.


The President, who said his administration was in support of the initiative, urged the people and residents of Anambra State to rally round the governor for a turning point towards building more prosperous Anambra and Nigeria. 


On his part, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Isaac Parashina, while describing the theme for the event as timely, urged other African leaders to emulate the kind gesture with a view to reposition the continent economically and otherwise.


Also speaking, the Minister for Regional Development, Mr Abubakar Moore, argued that governor Soludo has positioned the state to form unparalleled economic growth, urging him to improve the security as well to strengthened the human capital development.


Earlier speaking, the Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo said his administration was investing heavily on security, infrastructural development and others with a view to turn the State into economic hub and destination in Africa.


Soludo, who announced the progress of several modern Awka and Onitsha being built by his administration, adding that the ongoing infrastructural development, recreational sites and others being built through private public Partnership would go along way in building a fortified State for future generations.


The governor at the event signed 10 Memorandum of Understanding with development partners. These included Development of Agro Land by National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Development of Independent Power Plants (IPPs) by Genesis Energy and VFD Energy, Gas Reticulation Project by Axxela Limited and Development of Onitsha New City by MP Infrastructure.


Others were Development of Awkuzu Park by Marich International, Anambra Oncology Center by JNC International,bAnambra Development Investment Corporation (ADIC) by Cardinal Stone, MakerSpace Hub by UNDP, Awka International Hotel by Marriott and Upgrade and Rebranding of Agulu Lake Hotel by Protea.
