As the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) marked 70 years of existence as corporate entity, the National President of the Union, Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi has hailed members for playing crucial roles in advancing the country's democracy.
Alhassan, in a statement, explained that the union over the past seven decades, played a crucial role in championing press freedom, defending the rights of journalists, and ensuring ethical standards in the industry.
According to him, with the support of members, the NUJ would continue to strive for a more just and democratic society, where the press remains free and independent.
