It was a celebration galore at Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State as the Council boss, Hon. Chief Stanley Nkwoka flagged off construction of 0.563 kilometres stoned based interlock road.
The road with 50 years life span, named John Nwadiobi is located at Enekwasumpu, Obosi is expected to be completed in ten weeks together with solar powered street lights, and would provide easy access to several communities within Idemili North, South, Onitsha North and beyond.
Some of the community members who were thrilled over the development expressed happiness, noting that it would make it easier for them to transact their goods and services with ease while promoting comradeship with their neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the flag off, the Mayor, Idemili North LGA, Chief Hon. Stanley Nkwoka said the road was parts of his administration efforts to complement governor Chukwuma Soludo's giant strides in infrastructure development and good governance.
Nkwoka, who noted that the interlock roads would be better than what people built at homes, hinted that it was modelled after those existing at Benin Republic and Lagos State respectively so as to extend it life span while providing succour to the residents and natives of the community currently navigating the trunk C road.
He reassured other parts of the Council Area that such kind gesture would be replicated at their respective communities inline with his campaign promise and urged to reciprocate by supporting governor Chukwuma Soludo's led government and APGA on November 8, 2025 poll.
"Like I told you earlier, this is just one of the four roads we plan to build in Obosi. Next week, we will begin another road at Abatete, then proceed to Ideani, followed by Attah Road Nkpor, and we will return for another road in Obosi. Our governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo is doing well. We cannot stop emulating his food effort," he stated.
Earlier speaking, the project contractor, Mr Odira Eze of A & Z Global Elegance Company and the builder, Chibuike Okeke, while noting that the stoned based interlock road would be first of its kind in Southeast region, assured that quality work would be executed within a record time.
