Anambra Patriots for Soludo (APS), a political pressure group, Saturday, endorsed President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027, vowing to negotiate with stakeholders for emergence of an Igbo man or woman as President in 12 years time.
The National Convener, APS, Architect Okechukwu Ezeobi, who stated this at the group's general assembly meeting held in Awka, said they would ensure that Tinubu wins the Presidential poll in Anambra State in 2027.
Ezeobi, however, posited that they would enter negotiations and discussions with people across the 36 States and Federal Capital Territory that would guarantee election of a Southeasterner after the tenure of Tinubu and his successor from the North without stress.
According to him, it would be the turn of the North to produce the next President after the second tenure of Tinubu, and APS support to both administrations would make it easier for the emergence of a credible Igbo person subsequently.
"We are in support of the government of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) led by Professor Chukwuma Soludo. APGA from the time of Mr Peter Obi as governor always supports the government in power at the centre. We will continue with that. But we want to chat a new path; a new cause for the Igbo in 2027.
"We will chat a new path that will make Southeast all inclusive in the politics of Nigeria. We are not after emotions. It is about political calculations. We want to turn things around. We are becoming a political force for good governance education and mobilisation. We don't collect money.
"We are moving from Anambra State to other parts of the Southeast States, and Nigeria at large. We will mobilise support for the emergence of an Igbo person as President in 12 years time. You know that we, the Igbo have economic power. But we lacked political power. We will make it happen," he added.
Earlier speaking, the National Chairman, APS, Ozo Ejiamatu Enekwechi, while stressing that the assembly was convoked to thank members for the support given to Soludo in the 2025 gubernatorial poll, adding that they would always be in support of good governance and accountability with a view to repositioning Nigeria.
FactcheckNg. reports that the organisation equally used the opportunity to unveil its office at Awka, assuring that they would work with every person desirous of providing impactful leadership and accountability to the populace.
