As the 2027 general elections fast draw near, a top favorite Anambra North Senatorial aspirant, Dr Alex Odikasighue Obiogbolu has vowed to end all funny okada and Keke empowerment gimmick in the zone.
Dr Obiogbolu, who is presently the Special Adviser to Gov Chukwuma Soludo on Political Matters said he would rather work very hard at Senate to bring real life changing empowerment to the constituents, particularly youths of the Senatorial zone.
The aspirants revealed this at Otuocha, Anambra East Council of the state during his consultative visit with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Ward executives from Anambra East, Ayamelum and Oyi Councils.
He stated that he intend to give the people of the Senatorial zone a quality, responsible and responsive representation at the the National Assembly.
He lamented over what he saw as disgraceful representation the Anambra North Senatorial Zone has had where nothing worthwhile was attracted to the zone other than okada and Keke.
"I will be accessible to you, I promise you quality voice on the floor of the Senate Chamber all of you will be proud of, I will struggle to bring jobs from Abuja for our people, and end the era of insulting our youths with okada and Keke, once and for all.
"I am going to Abuja to bring what belongs to Anambra State to her, for many years, those who went to the Senate on behalf of Anambra North Senatorial zone have not brought anything from Abuja" he said.
Dr Obiogbolu said that it has become imperative for the constituents to know the capacity and antecedents of those aspiring to go to the National Assembly because the red chamber is not for learners.
He said that with more than thirty five(35) years experience in politics, recalled how he employed three thousand five hundred and sixty persons when he was the Chairman of Anambra State Local Government Service Commission.
As a loyal party man who for twenty one years attempted to make PDP work in Anambra State before he later joined APGA said that Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe of Anambra State, Dr Michael Okpara of Abia State and Chief Olushola Saraki of Kwara State as individuals employed political power for the general development of their areas. He described them as his role models.
Key stakeholders who spoke at the occasion declared their support for him.
