The Anambra state Women leader of All Progressive Ground Alliance (APGA), Hon Mrs Esther Onyeke "Ada Eji Ejemba" has Clearfield why no woman was nominated In all the twenty one local government Area during just concluded primary election against the forthcoming local government election.
Lady Onyeke made the clarification in an interview on Friday 6th March as Anambra APGA Women celebrate 2026 Women's Day at APGA House Awka, the state capital.
According to the woman leader, Men sees allowing women as Mayor of a local government as another way of worshipping women which she said always difficult for Igbo man to bend down and salute woman.
*Men found it difficult to bend and salute woman according to our Igbo culture so our governor and the party loved everybody not minding your gender. Mr governor loves to work with everyone once you can do the job well* she clarified.
Ada Eji Ejemba who was overwhelmed with joy for multitude of APGA women at the event , enjoined women to always assist their husband in any way possible to reduce untimely death among men due to hardship in the society.
She further revealed that women are the voting strength of any political party noting that the empowerment done to the women on the occasion was to appreciate them for their continued support for the party even as she assured that Anambra APGA Women would not relent in giving their support to the administration of His Excellency Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Executive governor of Anambra state.
Also in an interview, Another APGA staunch member Chief Ebuka Onunkwo (Oba Eze Afa) commended Anambra women as they celebrate this year's Women's Day. He revealed that women are the voting strength of any political party.
Chief Onunkwo who donated hurg amount of money to all the women from the twenty one local government across the state that attended the occasion assured that he would continue to assist them, describing women as strength of a family and the society, noting that women are trustworthy.
Earlier in her address, the wife of the state governor, Chief Dr Mrs Nnoye Soludo "Ada Anambra" said she came to appreciate Anambra women and also to remind them that they are great and needed to be celebrated.
According to her, women are unique, great in nature, trustworthy, always ready to assist the family, but needed to be shown love. She urged men to always show love to their wives as she insisted that happy family is a healthy family, stating that when the family is good, the community and the entire society would be good.
Ada Anambra further revealed that empowering one woman is empowering the entire family as according to her women think much of their family, she urged all women not to relent in making their families and the society proud.
The highlights of the event were the empowerment of over( 21) twenty-one women from all the local government Areas across the state with sowing machines and grinding machines as well as match-pass by the women, and presentation of prices for the best perfuming local government.
Ogbaru local government took first position, seconded by Awka North while third position goes to Idemili North local government.
