Awka,June13,2026Dr Law Mefor,Anambra Commissioner for information and value reformation, have described as beautiful leadership arrangements between the executive and the state legislature.
The commissioner said that though it's his first time in attendance of such event,and that he sees the event as very colorful, clement weather, well packed and delivered to precision's.
Our correspondent who sampled residents reactions on the event of the 8th assembly's third year anniversary reports in Awka on Sunday.
Mefor said that Anambra is rising because the governor,Prof Charles Soludo provided a level play ground with the three arms of government which created a healthy relationship between the arms of government.
He said that the relationship existing between the three arms of government shows that the arms of government understands one thing which is Anambra is one people,one state so they play politic of developments and not partisan politics.
Mefor said that the legislature is healthy and very effective in it's legislative duties because they gets their yearly appropriation in full and not in piece meal.
He called on other state governments across the country to emulate Soludo's financial autonomy step to it's legislative arm which have yielded independency and effectiveness in their legislative duties.
" The governor is not flexing muscle with the legislature and judiciary as he timely releases their appropriation timely and it has provided room for independency and developmental initiatives in the state.
" if any governor want to stifle its other arms of government is by withholding the financial autonomy making them weak in their duties just to force them work at his pace.
" I listened to the speaker give account of his stewardship and he said that over 40 laws have made by 8th assembly,while about half the laws have being accented to.
"The two key laws accented to is key to growth and development of the state such as the local government administration law which provides law for good governance and legal frame work in era of local government autonomy which is running well in Anambra.
"We have mayors who are constructing roads,empowering youths and women with various skills and opening up their various council areas because they enjoy financial autonomy.
"Anambra homeland security law 2025 another great law which provides law for new governance and security architecture in the state have been very effective and has changed the security concept in the state for good," he said.
He said that the state have relatively enjoyed peace over a year since the homeland law was established and disclosed that the last security misfit in the state was a check from unpatriotic individuals and noted the state is on top of it positively.
Mefor described the speaker,Dr Somtochukwu, as a strategic thinkers and doer of politics of development and not politics of partisanship where the progress of the state comes above political affiliation.
He that the speaker have very robust opposition in the house from other three political parties and managed to convince them to think and act Anambra above their party affiliation.
He also commended the oppositions for aligning with the speaker to play politics of development in place of politics partisanship and .described the act as true reflection of Anambra born.
He commended the governor for granting financial autonomy to the two arms government which has resulted in high performance of both executive judiciary and legislator.
He commend Mr governor for providing all necessary assistance to the other arms of government to perform optimal where the checks plays out.
The healthy relationship that exists between the arms shows that the governor allows financial autonomy by giving their full appropriation for the year not in a piece meal.
Chief Ejiofor Egwuatu,a 4th assembly 2007 to 2011 member and chairman house committee on information and state orientation said that the 8th assembly did not disappoint lawmakers before them.
He said that the law on regulation on real estate was mega if not people will come in to take the state for a ride.
He said that the security law was great too and commended the speaker and the governor for working harmoniously.
Egwuatu urged Anambra citizens to give their maximum support to the lawmakers and state government to enable them perform well for progress of the state.
