Anambra State ICT Agency, Tuesday, said its newly launched Artificial Intelligence platform, SmartGov is capable of assisting the citizens with information on easy way of obtaining Certificate of Occupancy, pay taxes and others.

The Public Relations Officer of the agency, Mrs Angela Nwanodu, who disclosed this in a statement, explained that the platform would equally make government easier to understand, easier to reach and easier to use.

According to her, it understands natural language, allowing users to ask questions the way they normally speak instead of searching through complex menus or technical documents.

" This represents a shift from traditional digital government platforms, where citizens often need to know which ministry or agency is responsible for a service before they can find the information they need. Rather than navigating multiple websites or searching through different government offices for answers, citizens can simply ask SmartGov questions in plain language and receive instant, relevant responses.

" Whether someone wants to know how to pay taxes, register a business, obtain a Certificate of Occupancy, access healthcare information, or learn about government services, SmartGov is designed to provide quick guidance through a conversational experience powered by artificial intelligence. The platform is designed to simplify access to government information and services.

"It supports ICT Agency's broader vision of improving public service delivery through technology. The initiative reflects Anambra State's commitment to leveraging innovation to build a more responsive, accessible and citizen-centred government. SmartGov also demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be applied responsibly to solve practical governance challenges.

" Rather than replacing human interaction, the platform complements government service delivery by making information more accessible, improving efficiency and helping citizens find the right services more quickly. As digital transformation continues to evolve, platforms such as SmartGov illustrate how technology can simplify everyday interactions between government and the people it serves," she added.
