The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anamra State, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, yesterday, presentated brand-new official vehicles to the polytechnic’s principal officers.
The Rector did the presentation in a brief ceremony at the polytechnic, where she formally handed over the keys of the official vehicles to five of them.
The beneficiaries include Deputy Rector, Administration, Venerable Dr. Ferguson Ezeokafor; the Deputy Rector, Academic, Dr. Nkiruka Akabuike; the Registrar, Mr. Akeem Adeleke Ayola; the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Nwabu Ezemba, and the Bursar, Mr. Jasper Anunike.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Rector described the provision of the official vehicles as part of her administration’s commitment to creating enabling environment for the principal officers to effectively discharge their responsibilities and contribute to the continued transformation of the institution.
She prayed for the beneficiaries, asking God to guide, protect and grant them wisdom as they use the vehicles in the service of the polytechnic and humanity.
Speaking on behalf the principal officers, the Deputy Rector, Administration, Venerable Dr. Ferguson Ezeokafor; expressed their profound appreciation to the rector for the gesture. He commended her visionary leadership and commitment to institutional development, noting that provision of official vehicles for all the principal officers represent remarkable development in the institution.
He said the development is yet another significant milestone in her administration, which he said, has witnessed increased attention to infrastructure, staff welfare, institutional facilities, academic development and administrative efficiency.
He commended the Rector, and noted that the presentation of the five official vehicles further underscores her determination to reposition the institution as a modern, efficient and enviable institution, while strengthening the capacity of its leadership to deliver effectively on the mandate of the polytechnic.
