A Maritime expert, High Chief Azubuike Ekweozor has declared interest to offer quality representation to Awka North and Awka South Federal Constituency if allowed to fly the ticket of All Progressive Grand  Alliance (APGA) on 2023 general election.

Ekweozor, who had made his intention known to the APGA National Chairman and other party organs across his constituency,  said he was passionate of helping the downthroden, while making necessary laws to uplift the poor, boost business and other opportunities for the south east zone generally.

He lamented that selfishness of some leaders elected to represent the people of his constituency in the past have robbed them positive change  because according to him, they denied people  effective and quality leadership overtime.

"Leaders representing us at the legislative house are selfish. What they are there is to secure their personal interest, their private business and for the good of those within their clique. that is why they don't solve people's problem.

"The people suppose to feel the impacts of leaders representing them. When leaders are doing well, the people know because their score cards would be visible for all to see," he noted.

He explained that the house ought to serves as the forum to make effective legislation that would bring solution to challenges as well as make impact to the yearnings of the people.

The Umuawulu born philanthropist who has held position of the Chairman, Tin Can Island Port Chapter of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF)  said his quest to represent his people is not for personal gains but to correct wrongs and anomalies in the society.

"My aim is not to secure influence to the government house nor for personal interest but the interest to work for my party, APGA, and people of Awka South and North.

"I never had the intention of coming out for election but it was the attitude of our people in leadership that is forcing me to contest. It is to correct some wrongs in the society."

He continued: "My initiative is beyond peoples expectation. People will  be surprised at the level of impact I would make at the house of representatives. I have impacted lives with the little God has given to me and will continue to use every opportunity He gives me to help humanity."

The maritime expert and business tycoon pledged that his election into the green chamber would bring massive redemption to the maritime industry and give sons of the state, who are known for their business exploits, a voice to speak in maritime matters.

He also assured to combine legislative tools and his experience in the industry to revive businesses which had failed due to the poor administrative policies in the maritime industry. "It takes a person who knows what is in the maritime industry as well as the challenges to be able to pursue bills that would eliminate the hitches affecting businesses. Ndi Anambra and Igbo in its entirety are known for businesses and it is bad policies in this area that had pegged Igbo sons back in their businesses," he concluded.
