The Young Progressive Party (YPP), Thursday, said it would train their polling agents to be acquainted with the provisions of 2022 electoral Act ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Anambra State Chairman of the party, Hon. Moses Obi, who disclosed this at interactive session with members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra State Council in Awka, explained that the training was necessary due to new provisions in the Act.
According to him, the training would enable polling agents understood their roles, does and don't, working of Biomedal Voters (BVas) and other relevant information for the electorate.
He added that the party would equally increase sensitisations and mobilisations of the populace for collection of their permanent voter's card (PVC) so as to actively participate on the election.
On readiness of the party to win the National and State Assembly polls in Anambra State, the party Chairman assured that their candidates for Anambra North, Anambra South and Anambra Central Senatorial zones, and 30 House of Assembly candidates have leadership qualities and capacities endearing them to all the electorate.
Also speaking, the Senatorial candidate of the party for Anambra Central, Dr Chinedu Umeadi said he was on the race to bring succour to the people.
"I have come to offer quality representation to my constituents. Anambra Central is suffering under representation since inception. We need a people oriented administration that will allow periodic assessing of the extent of delivery of dividends of democracy.
"There is what is called Needs Assessment Theory. Each set of people have different needs. If elected, my style of approach is strategic assessment of different constituents .This is what my purpose of being in an electoral office entails, achieving people oriented goals with accurate and systematic verifiable plans to achieve them," he noted.
