Police nabs 46 year old man who allegedly specialises on rapg 12 years-old girls

Anambra state police command has arrested a-46-year -old man, Charles Igwedibia, suspected to have defiled two 12 year old girls.

According to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPO), SP Haruna Muhammed, Igwedibia (alias Alagbon), who hails from Dusogu village, Awkuzu in Oyi LGA, was apprehended on July 18, following intelligence report.

“Suspect allegedly had series of unlawful carnal knowledge with a 12 years old girl at Nkwelle village between June and July 2019. Preliminary investigation also revealed that same suspect defiled another 12 years old girl of same address within that period,” Muhammed, further revealed. 

He further revealed that victims have been taken to Chira hospital Awkuzu and the Medical Doctor confirmed laceration of their hymen, while investigation continious after which the suspect would be charged to Court.

According to the PPRO, other arrest made by the command were that of Dabem Okeke, aged 28 and  Okechukwu Okafor, aged 37, hail from Ogidi aniuku village in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State. 

The suspects allegedly stormed the house of one Ms Ifenyichukwu Kamsisichukwu, aged about 20 years, forced her to open her door and took away her boy friend, Mr Chinedu Okoye 'm' aged 24years of Umuru village Ogidi and shot him with a gun.

“Scene was visited and victim who sustained a gunshot injury on the back was  rushed to Twinkle hospital Ogidi for medical attention and was certified dead by a medical doctor while receiving treatment. Corpse deposited at iyienu hospital morgue Ogidi for autopsy. 

"Meanwhile, exhibits recovered from the suspects include one single barrel gun allegedly used in perpetrating the crime. Preliminary investigation revealed that the principal suspect Dabem Okoye who allegedly pulled the trigger was suspected to be having a logger head with the deceased over a girl friend. 

" The case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution. Consequently, on July 18, following intelligence report, police detectives attached to Eziowelle Division in conjunction with Abatete vigilante group arrested two armed robbery suspects who have been terrorising the Area with robberies and other heinous crimes namely.

“They are Ifeoma Joy Ugegbe alias "Sabath", aged 20; Mr Ifeanyi Chinweze alias "cheplat", aged 19. They both hail from Oranto Ukpo in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include one cut to size single barrel gun loaded with a cartridge. The Case under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution,” he added.
