Parents who can not contain youth restiveness of their children urged to report such children to the palace of traditional rulers in their communities or any appropriate authorities for Reformation.
The Chairman Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and the Obi of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Achebe gave the indication when the Head of Directors, Center for Strategic Leadership and Youth Orientation paid the traditional rulers courtesy visit at Government House Awka.
He decried the alaming rates of youth restiveness going on in the country and urged parents to assist government, Traditional rulers and other stake holders by reporting such recallcitrant children for Reformation to curtail the ugly trend in our society today. He explained this increasing menace is an offshoot of election malpractices which the youths are used to achieve.
Igwe Achebe hinted that after Reformation, if they still engage in youth restiveness such as drug addiction, cultism, robbery and other social vices, that they will be handed over to the law enforcement agencies for prosecution.
The Royal Father who spoke on behalf of others hinted that the effect of Cultism is alarming as according to him the greater effects is on individuals who are involved in the acts.
He regretted that nothing good comes out of Cultism rather Cultism causes; killing, drug abuse, sexual assults, gambling, vandalism and intimidation among others.
He also made it known that cultism leads to loss of moral values in young people pointing out the practice of vegeance and violence that negates objective morals.
Igwe Agbogidi also condenmed the use of youths as political thuggs, applauded the Centre for Strategic Leadership and Youth Orientation for championing the cause of youths restiveness and called for it's sustainance.
Responding, the Head of Directors, Center for Strategic Leadership and Youth Orientation Dr Kingsley Ubaoji expressed joy for the reception the traditional rulers accorded him.
He further called for the partnership and support of the Royal Fathers to bring youth restiveness to the barest minimum and advised youths to key into the program which he said CENSTLEYO, a non governmental organization has planned, is geared towards getting youths to forge a future that is sustainable as according to him the NGO is aimed at sustainable development of #youths.
Obi Achebe enjoined parents to assist the Government and Traditional institution to wage war against youth restiveness by aligning the NGO's core objective for the good of the society at large.
