Reinstated Ifitedunu President General sues for peace

The newly reinstated President General of Ifitedunu Community in Dunkofia Council Area of Anambra,Chief Uche Nwoye has called on all aggrieved persons in the community to embrace peace moves initiative.


He said that all has happened in previous year that led to his unlawful removal from office has been forgiven by him and desires a peaceful conflict resolution action to unite all.


Nwoye appealed  to all  Community members to embrace peace for unity,progress and development of the community.


“We need to live in peace as one body,no need for bickering,our community unity peace and development is far above any individual interest and that is why I beg for peace, unity, and oneness,”Nwoye said


Nwoye said that plans to invite all major stakeholders to a peace and conflict resolution is been planned and urged all to be calm and have open mind to restoration of greater peace in Ifitedunu.


,”I am a unifying tool to move Ifitedunu beyound its present status.


“we need to work as a team to project the beauty and cultural inheritance of our community to the world.


“Bickering over materialism would not take the community to the growth and development the youths are yawning for,our women and girls need skills acquisition and our men need to operate in a peaceful environment to achieve huge successes “he said.


He denied the alleged closeness to Anambra Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government,  Mr Tony Nwabunwanne that worked for his reinstatement.


“This allegations is not near the truth at all,I was wrongly removed from office by former governor Chief Willie Obiano.


“I was not invited by the government to query me over any misconduct, I read about my removal from social media and later it turned to be true.


“I was not given a chance to know what offence I had committed and to defend myself,as law abiding citizen I Channelled my regrets rightly and justice was finally given to me and my team,”he said.


Nwoye said that he was elected on December 30, 2019,was sworn in immediately and was removed unlawful on October 13, 2021.


He said that current government under Prof.Charles Soludo waded into the community leadership tussles in the state that led to removal of leadership of such communities and corrected the  wrongs.


“Ifitedunu was not the only community such benevolence  was extended to but decision was reached based on facts on ground,”he said.


“It is very wrong for anyone to peddle such unfounded stories about the Commissioner or even make such demand of reversal from the government.


“I expect grateful heart from well meaning people of the Communities involves to the government for their bold step to amend broken lines,”he noted.


He said that trouble in Ifitedunu started when the past PG Chife Samuel Nweke felt uncomfortable with his emergence as the new PG after he had served out his 4 years tenure.


“Nweke was supposed to serve three years as was in the community constitution but he changed that aspect to 4 years,


“I was his vice president,he carries on without due consultations,he registered the community with Cooporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with the consent of the traditional ruler I was not even aware neither was the Secretary.


“The CAC registration was done with 15 members as being present in February 22 2017 that empowered him to do so all was lies.


“He has used the CAC registration to be selling the community property amongst other ignoble acts which he feels I questioned,”he said.


Nwoye disclosed that's

 Nweke used added names of dead member’s of the community as part of the 15 man member’s,people who died 2004 and 2011 while 5 member’s has denied been present during the said meeting of 2017.


He urged Nweke to give proof of the people he said was killed that led to my removal,o challenge him to mention names and address of such persons.


Nwoye said that the two youth organisations was formed to play power tussle on the community activities,and who takes charge of the affairs of the community.


He said that it was because some wealthy personality used their mighty to down play the leadership of the community and that resulted to crisis which was not my making.


,”I was molested and charged to court by these wealthy personalities after much appeal to them to embrace peace,at the end of their wealth display I was now given justice.


“All the court cases in question was raised by the opposite group and none had yielded any negative result towards me.


“inflicting  injuries on people was not done by me,  is youths conflict which we waded into to resolve the problems but it was rejected by them.


“Allegation of  Killing of persons is a capital offence and desire capital punishment,let have  a proof of  this claim,nobody was killed.


“I had asked for the people that was reported to have sustained injuries so I can pay a visit to them but am yer to get the details.


,”in all these troubles initiated by un informed people in the community that led to my removal is forgiven and we desire to use our constitution to fine tune issues and resolve all misgivings.


“I call on all well meaning people of the community to embrace peaceful resolutions, for our community to return to its list glory”he begged.


NAN report that Nwoye was removedfrom office non disclosed  offence by former governor Obiano but was recalled to office by Soludo


The traditional ruler of the community Dr Emeka Ilouno in company of his community members paid a thank you visit to the governor on July 5


In his reaction Nweke said that the government has not achieved any peace but called on govenment to rescind their decision 

Nweke said that the reinstated PG have case to answer untill that is resolved true peace will not return to the community we seek justices over the people wounded or killed on the process.
