The Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Ernest Ezeajuyi, Saturday, said the governor was committed to making Anambra residents mentally and physically fits through sports.
According to him, the governor has also started equipping and empowering sports professionals to thrive, even as he demonstrated his good plans for sports by appointing Mr Patrick Estate Onyedum to chair Anambra State Sports Commission.
Ezeajuyi disclosed this while delivering a lecture entitled, "Driving Soludo Solution Agenda Through Sports", at the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra Chapter 2022 Week and End of Year ceremony held Saturday night.
He sought partnership with the SWAN to publicise the government programme and policies on sports and other economy as ways of mobilising the citizenry for action.
"Onyedum within the short time of his appointment has led the state contingent to the National Sports Festival in Delta State where they came back with a total of 39 medals. SWAN is a worthy partner to communicate these activities through the mainstream and new media to bring back the standard of Anambra in sports," he added.
