Women Conference: Direct your labour to yield good fruits





Mrs Gozie Onuorah, a retired teacher,who is the facilitor of the  Bible Study for the women's conference, urged women to be great labourer in God's vineyard. 


She described as crucial the 2023 Parish Women Conference of St Mary's  Anglican Church, Nri,Anglican Communion Awka Diocese, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra.


Onuorah said that the theme of the conference holding at Nri, "You Shall eat the fruit of your labour',Psalm 128 verse 2 on Saturday is apt.


She said that her Bible study talk will aline with the theme of the conference so as to touch the present happenings in the today  society well.


Onuorah titled her topic "you will reap the friut of your labour" and defined labour as hard work,toil or extended efforts on a particular task.


She described the word friut of your labour to mean the profit or gain achieved  as a result of hard work and divided labour into three areas.


She said that for effective implementation labour is categorised to identify the areas to labour on,to learn how to direct your labour to yield good friuts and to discover obstacles to reap the good fruits.


Onuorah said that man should labour in God's vineyard through prayers and make God's work a priority to gain good reward.


She said that in all man do,either in family circle, at work places,even at your farm land,care, love peace, unity and thoughtfulness should be a watch word.


Onuorah said there is need to direct your labour to yield good fruits through creation of loving environment anywhere you find yourselves in the society.


She said "Define family rules and enforce them,exercise your authority well with exemplary life,acknowledge your children's feelings and guide them properly.


"Invite Jesus in your labour field so that He will direct your paths,prayerfully discover the endowment of people under your care and guide them right.


"Give godly training and quality education to  enable them achieve their goal in life in areas of skilled or unskilled.


"Above all to gain good friuts in our field of labour patience, tolerance and understanding need be applied in our life endeavour,"she said.


Onuorah identified obstacles to reaping the friuts of once  labour to include,labouring in wrong profession, operating against the limit of one's capability. 


She said inappropriate guidance and wrong choice of career,frequent lose of job,making money but cannot account for its spent amongst others 

"When God is against man it means men have forsaken the goodness of God's house,Haggai 1 verses 3 to 11.


"If you delight in His laws and meditate therein,whatsoever you do shall prosper,Psalm 1verse 2 to 3.


" if man obey and serve God, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure, John 36 verses 11,"she stated.


Onuorah said that work of ones hand is meant to reward the person  and advise the participants to ensure they labour in faithfulness.


"Ones sweat is not in vain because sweet is meant to come out of every sweat of one's life as God's pattern because He believes in fruitfulness,"she said.


Mrs Onyinye Edokwe,an expositor in collaboration of Onuorah's teaching in line with the conference theme said that if we labour in good field goodness is assured.


Edokwe said that the mind of God declared "We cannot build for another to live in or labour for another person to take possession of our gain.


"You shall only eat good labour yields when the labour is done with fear of God in all human activities,"she said.


Mrs Onyinye Enwerokwe,a medical expert talk on the indices of menopause and its management to gain benefits of good labour advised participants on right actions.


Enwerokwe said that menopause is divided into three types namely pre menopause where the menses plans to stop,post menopause and menopause proper.


She advised the participants not to fear the menopause stages and its attendants challenges as there alternatives to the challenges.


She said that menopausechallenges like " The withdrawal of the blood flow,joint pains,hot fluses,,big hip,mood swing,blurred vision,memory loss, loss of sexual act amongst others.


"All the above mentioned menopause challenges should not deny one's fruit of labour rather frequent medical check up is needed for  advice to enjoy fruitful life. 


"Eat vegetables, friuts,avoid toxic environment, increase water intake and apply lubricant and exercise always to keep your body in shape," she advised.


Mrs Victoria Nwosu,a participant commended the women ministry of the church for annually holding the conference.


Nwosu said that the parish conference is the period to review activities of the women in the parish and plan for upcoming year in core areas of importance to the church.


Earlier the Vicar of the church, Canon Ifeanyi  Emegwa,in his Homily to declare the parish conference open tasked participants to equip themselves well.


Emegwa said that sound teaching to the children in line with God's word will yield good manners and prosperous homeland.


He advised the participants to sow good seeds for good harvest,bless is everyone who fears God and walk in his ways.


"This action of good friuts  has a promise attached to it as recorded in Psalm 128 verse 2.,You shall eat the fruit of your labour.


"The benefit of this labour must be sown in right proportion with honesty and fear of God,if not the friuts expectations may not be gainful., " he said.


Emegwa advised participants to use the word of God as a standard to know how best to labour to attract plentiful friuts,may God take away termite in your field," he prayed.


Dr Uzoamaka Emegwa, wife of the Vicar assured the women that they will eat the friut of the labour if they fear God.


She advise the participants to always place high value to God's work by timely attending all activities associated with God's work.


Emegwa urged the participants not to fear the challenges of present day as it pays to serve God and once hope is anchored on God,rich harvest abounds.


Newsmen  reports that the parish conferences is an annual program of the Anglican Communion.


 reports that all the zones under St Mary's parish namely Uruoji,Agbadana,Obeagu,Awka,,Enugu, Onitsha and Echetawo were all present. 


 reports that dignitaries across the Doicese especially from Church of The Pentecost Awka where the Vicar served were in attendance.
