Anambra residents praise President Tinubu's policies

Some Anambra State residents have praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his various policies aimed at ameliorating the plights of Nigerians, describing it as a worthy tool for national development.


The residents, in separate interviews, said they were hopeful that the government was progressive and capable of uplifting the poorest in the country. 


Speaking in an interview, the Head, Department of Economics, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Dr Bruno Ibekilo, hailed the President's decision to suspend temporary tax suspension which according to him, will be profitable to firms especially those facing plethora of business environment and operational challenges and in turn make their shares attractive in the stock market.


He said that the speech is a promising atmosphere which has or is still expected to enthrone with the financial support to different size of businesses will also deepen investor’s confidence in the stock market there by increasing it’s base.


The Economist said  incentives to agriculture and agro allied businesses will attract more of them into the formal sector and their possible enlistment in the stock market to seek self driven expansion in their interest and overall interest of the economy.


“The infrastructure support fund as the President posited in his speech will revamp the education sector.


“This funds expectedly will draw from the savings from subsidy removal and on the supply side channeled to a multi tier revamping of the decaying infrastructure in school at all level of education.


“On the demand side, the students loan scheme is expected to ensure that our youths whose homes may be adversely affected by the prevailing rising but controllable inflationary trend do not see them drop out from schools,”he said.


Ibekilo said that  the fuel subsidy removal will  throw up investments in research and development in alternative and environmentally friendly energy sources and further activate the dying national  gas project of the past administration.


“Lastly, I must conclude that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel and there is indeed a renewed hope that we can get there successfully,”he said.


Mr Basil Ejideka said that the president has demonstrated in all sincerity capability to handle the challenges of Nigerians   and called for total support and patience with the president to reel out all his developmental programs.


Mr Christian Beluchukwu  an organised  private sector personality described the speech as a welcome program in the right direction to make the country again.


Beluchukwu said that the president need to fix right people with seasoned skills to translate his noble ideas to reality.
