Anglican clergy, Venerable Ekene Nwafor,incharge of Church of The Pentecost, Awka, Diocese of Awka,has called on women to see their families as first responsibility from God.
Nwafor made the call during a sermon titled “see family as first assignment from God to women”.
He said that women are co-partners with God in labouring to create a healthy and safe world.
Nwafor urged women to first ensure that their families are well cared for before offering services to the church.
“You have to start your evangelism from your home by labouring in the ministry of family to groom Christian home.
“It is expected that mother’s must ensure that there is food in family, specific instructions on well being of family are planned before going to work in the church.
“Mother’s are not expected to leave the care of the home with excuse to go live in the church doing one work or the other for God, family is first,do not miss up issues” he said.
He urged the women to uphold God’s creation of marriage by acting like a vitreous woman as recorded in proverb 31 verse 10 to 31.
Nwafor, said that the Holy Bible described a virtuous woman as one who is like a merchant who bringeth her food from afar.
” She riseth while it is night and cares for her home,her children arise up and call her blessed.
” Her husband is respected and her works praise her in the gate, please train your children to fear God and live to uphold every good morals,”he said.
Revd Ifeanyi Chukwudebelu,who anchored the Bible Study during the women conference with a topic “A Christian Mother in God’s laour”.
Chukwudebelu said that God’s purpose is to raise labourers in this world who will be co- labourers with Christ,as a core of Christian calling.
He said that Christians mother should be a mother in Israel like Deborah,Sarah,Tabitha and many other women of old who feared God.
” labour in your family under God in this generation where crime is on the increase and teach your children right way of living for God to reward you ” he said.
Mrs chinwe Nwafor the convener of the conference and wife of the Vicar urged women to co -labour with God to have a sane society.
Nwafor said for the society to be better the world must be saturated with the friuts of Christian labour’s.
She said that God is looking for the generations of women who will stand on their watch,gird and guide their loins labouring under God.
Speaking during the conference, Mrs Ethel Eruchalu, a participant commended the new model introduced by the women ministry to groom young women.
Eruchalu said with the new model it is hope that women will take family business seriously and turn out children that will be progressive in life.
Mr Tim Nwabunwanne, a member of the Grace Family of the church lead the delegation of the planning committee of the conference to encourage the women in building a healthy society.
Nwabunwanne urged the women to reciprocate God’s blessings in their lives through raising godly home always.
