Calls by LP caucus in Anambra State House of Assembly is good to end hunger, Ozigbo

By Okechukwu Onuegbu

A former gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, Saturday, described the calls by the caucus of Labour Party (LP) in Anambra State House of Assembly to end hunger in the land as timely and proactive.

Eight members of LP in Anambra state house of assembly had in a communique sacrificed their six months salaries to the poor, even as they urged States governors and President Bola Tinubu to shelve bogus government policies at all levels and concentrate on proactive measures to address hunger and insecurity.

Ozigbo, who is a former CEO of Transcorp hotels PLC, argued that the call was necessary because "What the people are experiencing at the moment has moved from poverty to chronic hunger and to compound issues, insecurity has nose dived abysmally."

He added that "I lend my voice to that of LP inner caucus Anambra State of Assembly to call on governments on all tiers to be responsive to the immediate plight of the people which is hunger and insecurity.

"I think the call is timely because our people are going through excruciating pains as a result of policies that are not of immediate expedience. I hereby fully endorse the communique," he expatiated.

He said his satisfaction with the sacrificial spirit of the caucus deserves emulation by other lawmakers and enjoined them to continue to uphold the manifestoes of our dynamic leader His Excellency Mr Peter Obi and the tenets of our great party.
