Tricycle operators in Anambra State under the auspices of Anambra State Keke Drivers Forum (AKDF) have reiterated the needs for the State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo to establish Keke Management committee.
According to the group's Coordinator, Comrade Osita Obi, this committee which should be manned by Keke drivers would assist greatly in raising the State Internally generated revenue, as well as unify the members to support Soludo's efforts to develop the State immensely.
Obi, who spoke at the end of inspection of completed and ongoing road projects embarked by the governor in Awka, argued that the Committee would equally help the governor in totally eradicating touting, blocking revenue leakages and other malfeasance.
He said they were excited over the infrastructure development ongoing all over the State, noting that it would help Keke drivers to navigate parts of Anambra State without traffics and other challenges.
Obi urged Keke drivers to keep on supporting the governor by paying their taxes accordingly as he was confident that the governor would do more with their supports.
Also speaking, a Keke driver, Mr Amos Nweke thanked the governor for keeping to his word of turning Awka into a befitting Capital Territory, noting that with what he had done in terms of network of roads around Awka villages they were sure he would do more in the next years to come.
Contributing, other Keke drivers, Prince James Onyibe and Pastor John Chidi-Chukwu prayed to God who was using the governor to change the story of Anambra to give him victory over his various endeavours and wisdom to do more.
It would be recalled that the AKDF members on Monday traversed the 33 villages of Awka where the governor has constructed networks of roads, drainages and other infrastructure development barely his two years of taken over as the Anambra State governor.
