CP Itam assures Anambra residents of returning tight security in the state




Mr Nnaghe Itam, Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command has assured residents of tight security watch under his control.


Itam called on the people of the state to partner the Command to achieve a peaceful and safe Anambra for all.

The Commissioner made the call during the celebration of his 57th birthday in Awka on Sunday.

Itam said that if the residents partners with the command by giving quality informations timely and live lawful they will know that they have best Police presence in the state as long as he remains the Commissioner.


He said that Anambra residents will experience a disruptive change in security architecture of the state sooner than they expected, that his only request is for residents to work with them professionally.



Itam called on all traditional rulers, President-Generals across the communities of the state to live in harmony with each other and carry out their legitimate activities for peaceful co-existence in the state.


He urged Anambra public not to take laws into their hands but are advised to report any suspicious movements to nearest police station to them. 


" we still maintain request for committed neighbourhood watch solang,if you see something say something ," he appealed.


He advised the police officers to be on top of their duties and discharge their work schedules professionally.


Itam urged the command officers to be committed and diligent in discharging their duties always knowing that their service to humanity will not go unnoticed.


" All I ask from every single person in the state is patriotism, and prayers for the common good of all.


" we will not lose Hope in Nigeria, the country belongs to us, so everyone need to contribute it's quota in the development and growths of the state,and nation at large," he said. 


Mr Chijioke Okechukwu, Chairman,Association of Federal Heads Of Establishments,(AHFE) (ANAMBRA State Chapter) hailed the CP for running strong in it's services in the state showing that he is strong enough to work for Anambra.


Chijioke urged every citizen or resident of Anambra to key into the CP's appeal by first, being a good citizen and  secondly, having confidence in the Police, to move Anambra State more forward.


Okechukwu assured that the body will give every necessary support to the command to ensure that the command achieve its core responsibility of security of lives and properties of Anambra public.


Mr Chuba Akobi, a senior retired police  officer urges Anambra public to rally round the new CP for a disruptive change in security architecture of the state.


Akobi who hails from Ogidi community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra described Itam as a grounded police officer with rich knowledge about policing affairs.


He said that Anambra need to return fullly to its glorious status where business activities and social life successful thrive without fear of attacks from unpatriotic persons.


" A state described as safe and peaceful should enjoy both day and night legitimate activities unhindered to raise the economy of the state.


"If Anambra public provides friendly work environment to the cp the work will be easier and the state will be happier having Itam as their CP," Akobi said.


Akobi said that the CP has tall profile to enable him restructure and turn the command around to get the best Police services down for Anambra people to enjoy calmness.


Mr Maduaburochukwu Attah,a guest at the event urged wealthy Anambra people to partner the police for optimal security services delivery. 


Attah said that security watch services is for all the people to join hands with the police so as to achieve desired results of weeding crime out of the state.


Attah said that the job of quality policing cannot be effectively done by police alone without the partnership of the people of Anambra. 


He called on residents to sustain the peaceful and safe security environment experienced in the state currently.


He said that Anambra public should work with the Police through giving true and intelligent informations to aid surpass the present security stability witnessed in the state. 


" we need to support police with committed partnership both emotionally stability or otherwise for common good of the people." He said 



 Mr Nnaghe  Itam assumed duty as the 34th Commissioner of Police of the Anambra State Police Command on May 14.


The birthday celebration started with a church services at Foundation faith Church with family, friends, and senior police officers in attendance..


 The event was graced by people across walks of life, with Anambra police officers wives Chairperson Mrs Joan Itam in attendance.
