By Okechukwu Onuegbu

Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Wednesday, expounded free to air Internet connectivity WiFi across schools, residential areas and markets within the Awka Capital Territory.

The free WiFi named Solution WiFi was aimed at enabling residents, students and busineses to access the Internet at their comfort without subscribing to data, as parts of the state government's commitment to extending this network to even more areas.

It was learnt that the WiFi are currently available at Awka and Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area (LGA), and Agulu and their environs in Anaocha LGA, especially at Aroma junction, Eke Awka market, ABS bus stand, Agulu, Ukwu Oji, School gate Ifite, Ada Jesus lodge, Address Lodge, Bucan Lodge, First Choice lodge, Holy family, Book foundation, Living Spring lodge, Novena Lodge, Royal Villa lodge, Rubez Lodge and Solution Arena.

The Public Relations Officer, Anambra State ICT Agency, Mrs Angela Nwanodu, who confirmed the development, hinted that the WiFi aligned with governor Soludo’s vision of “Everything Technology and Technology Everywhere," as a digital revolution.

Nwanodu, who contended that it was a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model driven by Anambra State ICT Agency in collaboration with Pine Heights Systems Limited (PHSWEB), added that it was previously launched as a pilot across three strategic locations such as Aroma Junction, Book Foundation, and School Gate Ifite.

"Through this partnership, the PPP model accelerates digital infrastructure development, empowering Anambra to lead in technology inclusion while optimising resources and expertise. Soludo's administration adopted this to drive Anambra’s digital revolution, ensuring that technological advancement benefits every resident.

"Solution Wi-Fi Initiative has rapidly expanded, now connecting 14 additional locations across Anambra State. This growth reflects the administration’s commitment to bridging the digital divide, giving students, businesses, and residents greater access to the online resources essential for learning, development, and economic empowerment," she submitted.

Nwanodu further recalled that growth reflects the administration’s commitment to bridging the digital divide, giving students, businesses, and residents greater access to the online resources essential for learning, development, and economic empowerment.

"Through this partnership, the PPP model accelerates digital infrastructure development, empowering Anambra to lead in technology inclusion while optimizing resources and expertise. As Solution Wi-Fi reaches more locations, connectivity is now available to a broader population.

" Governor Soludo’s administration envisions a state where internet access supports innovation, education, and economic growth, reinforcing the belief that digital inclusion is fundamental for social progress. With each new location connected, the Solution Wi-Fi Initiative brings Anambra closer to a fully connected digital ecosystem.

"The state government remains committed to extending this network to even more areas, underscoring Governor Soludo's vision for a tech-savvy state, that provides equitable access to technology and positions its citizens for success in the digital economy. Together, the Anambra State Government and Pine Heights Systems Limited (PHSWEB) are setting the stage for a future where technology fosters growth, learning, and opportunity, making Anambra a beacon of digital transformation in Nigeria."
