Ahead of February 25, 2025 launch of SolutionLens, a digital platform setup for improved and enhanced citizen engagement, Anambra State Government has trained 52 representatives from 13 pilot Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The training held in Awka, Anambra State capital, was attended by 52 representatives of the MDAs as planned by the organising institutions, the Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and the Anambra State ICT Agency.
SolutionLens, it was learnt, was designed as a direct communication channel between the government and its citizens to ensuring real-time access to government activities while promoting openness, accountability, and accessibility.
Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of Anambra ICT Agency, Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata said it was focused on equipping MDAs with the necessary skills to navigate the platform, leverage its features, and engage actively in transparent governance.
Agbata, who explained that the SolutionLens would equally serve as a centralised system for accessing government projects and ministry-specific information, hinted that the training would ensure that officers were well-prepared to navigate the platform seamlessly and provide valuable responses to citizens.
" Participants will be engaged in interactive demonstrations, hands-on sessions, and discussions, exploring how to manage inquiries, update information, and utilize the dashboard for real-time reporting," he added.
According to him, the platform which would be launched on February 25, 2025 was part of State government commitment to drive digital transformation and transparency by ushering in full-scale citizen engagement as a tool for direct communication, real-time updates, and enhanced government accountability.
One of the trainees and staff of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency (ACTDA), Miss Ukpa Ewa said the training was apt at a time when trust in governance was declining and would provide citizens with opportunities to learn more about projects in their communities and what the government was doing.
