Soludo shutdown another treemarket at Nnewi over sit-at-home

Anambra State Government, Monday, said it has shutdown the popular New Auto Spare Parts Association (NASPA) Market, Nkwo Nnewi for one week.


According to a statement from the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, the New Auto Spare parts which is in the heart of the industrial city, is closed for business for one over low compliance to the State government order to stop sit-at-home.


"The market, whose date of closure is effective from midnight today, Monday, 23rd February, 2026, will reopen next Monday, 2nd March, 2026. The closure of the market followed low compliance with Mr Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo's order to end Monday sit-at-home in Anambra State.


"The order to close the market was handed down on behalf of the governor by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Markets, Chief Evarist Uba, in company of the Commissioner forSoludo shutdown another market at Nnewi over sit-at-home  Information, Dr Law Mefor, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AVM Ben Chiobi(Rtd) and Nnewi Mq weayor, Hon. Echezona Anazodo.


"Traders and customers are advised to avoid the market until next Monday to avoid issues with law enforcement agents. The market may face further closure if 

compliance is not substantiaal by next Monday, when the marobably rket reopens," he started. P


The statement also confirmed that Main Market Onitsha and others recently closed down have be resumed full time operations on nkngastepectyakkugg green ppMeanwhile, normal activities have resumed in Anambra State on Mondays following the governor's order late January,5
