Arewa community reaffirms commitment to promoting peace in Anambra, seeks inclusion

Arewa Community in Anambra State, Wednesday, reaffirmed its commitment towards collaborating with their host communities to promote peaceful coexistence and tranquility.


The Chairman of the Community, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, stated this during a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, at her office in Awka, noting that they were prepared to serve in various capacities to maintain unity, law and order. 


Siddiki, who also commended the governor for the support extended to Arewa community since the inception of his administration including the establishment of the Wazobia Market, which according to him, has significantly boosted their commercial activities and improved the livelihoods of members.


He, therefore, solicited sustained collaboration with the state government through inclusion in key government programmes and engagements to enable them contribute more effectively to the ongoing developmental strides governor Chukwuma Soludo.


The community further congratulated the new Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake on her appointment, describing it as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to youth and women inclusion in governance.


Responding, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake reassured the community of the Anambra State government’s readiness to sustain collaboration and support for the overall progress of all.
