Soludo's resilience in health development bagged him commonwealth award

Dr  Somtochukwu Udeze, Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, said that  the conscerted  efforts of Anambra Governor ,Prof.Chukwuma Soludo toward development of health sector earned him commonwealth award.


Udeze lauded the giant strides of Mr governor  in health Care Delivery in the State where adequate attention is being given to all speciality of health care development, provisions of basic  physhcal infrastructure and  human services in the State's health sector.


FactcheckNg reports on Saturday in Awka  that the information was contanied in a statement released to Journalists by Mr Emma Madu, Chief Press Secretary, to the speaker.


The statement was a  result of  the Nurses -Friendly Governor Award given to  Soludo by the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation during their 2026 Conference in Abuja.


Udeze maintained that the governor's scorecards in health sector as well as verifiable health milestones his administration has recorded are some of the considerations that laid credence to the prestigious award by the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation.


The speaker noted that Soludo's visible efforts in health development in the State to include massive employment of over one thousand health personnel and free antenatal care and delivery services in the state.


" The establishment of thirty cervical cancer screening centers in the state for early detestion and prevention of cancer,and if detested to gain possible treatment.



"The establishment of a medical oxygen production plant and endoscopy unit in general hospitals as well as local and international training and retraining of medical personnel in the State.


"He also noted that  Soludo's administration has completed renovation and modernisation of three general hospitals at Umueri, Ekwulobia and Enugwu-Ukwu, covering the three Senatorial Zones of the State.


"The additional   building of  five new general hospitals at Okpoko, Fegge, Aguleri-Otu, Anaku and Oromaetiti, all in Anambra North Senatorial District to enhance health care in rural areas",Udeze stated.


 The speaker commended the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation for recognising the achievements of Mr Soludo in the health sector by bestowing the famous Nurses-Friendly Governor Award on him, adding that the award will really motivate the him in furthering his good governance in the State.
